IT IS A BOY!

WELCOME Baby Boy Wirthlin #4!!!!!!!

The 4D images were cool, yet a little scary!
There is no question there!
Mark and I went for my 20 week ultrasound today and the first thing the tech said is "oh you came on a good day, I am having a girl day. Monday was a boy day and today is a girl day." Well we proved her theory wrong! I had a bitter-sweet moment for two seconds and now I am back in the "yeah baby mode". This boy is going to need all new clothes anyways after three boys have went through everything. I guess I haven't got how to parent boys because I keep getting more chances. Mark said "now we have to think of another boy name!" So that should be interesting. The baby was healthy and everything looked great. He was quite shy and didn't want his picture taken. For that reason, we did not get a very good profile, but of course, he looks exactly like the other three and their profile in the ultrasounds. Maybe I need to get a girl dog so I am not so out numbered.

Surgery Day!

Well we all survived the double trouble surgery day. Both Miles and Ryan were excellent. We got there around 7:45 and left the hospital at 10:30, so it was quite quick, but there was a lot of waiting and they both did excellent. They were only back in the operating room for no more than twenty minutes each. The nurse told us before hand to expect them to be a little crazy when they come out of the anthestetic, that they may even be a little possesed. I just kind of chuckled about that, but boy she sure wasn't kidding. Ryan came back first and he was OUT OF CONTROL!!!!!!!! He needed to drink before they could give him pain medicine and he wanted some apple juice. So the nurse brought him a nice cup of apple juice with that fun crunchy ball ice and a straw and he wanted NOTHING to do with it. He refused screaming, kicking, flayling around, because he wanted his apple juice in a box. So the nurse called the cafeteria, nope only in bottles, she brought one of those in and he still absolutely refused. Then the nurses came up with the idea of a milk box with the apple juice in it. That came in and that was the end all. He knew immediately that it was a milk box. There was a picture of a llama on the back and he kept saying over and over "See it is a cow," So for the next 45 minutes, he kept saying "IT IS A COW!" I wanted to take a picture of the scowl he had on his face but I didn't dare. Because meanwhile as all of this was happening, we kept trying to get him to stop crying and calm down and I would rub his leg or touch him and he would sit up and call me names and tell me he hates me and spit at me. All I could do was laugh, because it was so out there. Luckily Mark was holding him and trying to hold him still and he kept him from crashing to the ground several times. He sat in his underware and wouldn't let anyone touch him. Finally we were able to put clothes on him and get him some pain medicine (still with nothing to drink!) and leave the hospital. After picking up Jonathan, where was the first place we went..... the grocery store to get some juice in a darn box!!!!!
Miles came in quiet as a mouse and stayed that way the whole time, he got a little edgy and cried until they brought him some medicine because of the pain, but he was very calm and I was so glad that I was holding him. But tonight they are both doing wonderful and they say that they can hear so clear and great now. So the surgery was a success and I am glad it is done. Good Night!

Webkinz World!

Miles has been after me to put up the picture he took of his webkinz animals. So here they are. We were introduced to the world of webkinz in October, when Miles really wanted one for his birthday. So he got a lion named Leo and then at Christmas he got a reindeer named Dasher and for Valentines Day he got a Black Lab named Cupid. Does he like the theme names or what. When you buy these stuffed animals, they come with a code that you use to sign up you animal on the Webkinz world website. Once they are registered, it is basically a life that you create for this animal. You have to earn money by playing games or doing trivia, and then you have to feed, house and take care of these animals. So what did Ryan get for Valentine's Day... a Koala that he chose to name Hippo!! So now we are always checking our animals and making sure that they are fed and asleep when they need to be. Now I don't ever have to get my kids an animal, they have the cyber pets! Side note on pets: Yesterday we were driving down the road, a road that has fields on both sides and of course, a church on the corner of the street. And as we were pulling up by the church, a huge rodent crossed in front of us (the size of a small possum). Come to find out it was a huge Rat!!!! So then Miles kept talking about getting a rat for a pet all night, he came up to me and asked me what I think we should name his rat and I told him Dead Meat, and he didn't think that was to funny. That is the only way a rat will be in my house, Yikes!!!!

Bad Ears!!!!

Those of you who know my boys, know that there is not much of me (Carrie) in them physically. They all take after their handsome Dad. So greatful for that!! But their are other things that my boys have gotten from me that are not so great. My bad ears for one!! I had horrible ears as a child, tubes 3 or 4 times and I think my loud talking is definately a cause of all the scarring HEE HEE! Well most of you know that Ryan has had tubes twice, so now on Thursday of this week, he is going in for set number three!!!! But right there beside him this time will be good ol Miles!!! Miles had an ear infection the saturday after Thanksgiving and we took him to the Dr. that day and got him on an antibiotic, and sooooo five antibiotics later and almost three months, he STILL has fluid behind his eardrum. So the ENT said the only way to get rid of the infection is to put in tubes. Come to find out the number one reason they put tubes in is because an infection doesn't go away. Miles is very nervous and scared about the whole thing. Ryan doesn't really say much either way. Keep them both in your prayers this Thursday as they will both be getting their tubes that day. Keep me in your prayers that I can stay sane helping two boys recover from the anthestetic. UGH!

"I Love You" Breakfast

My fun dishes I don't get to use very often

Ryan decided to have a healthy breakfast of chocolates
Jonathan decided to have a lollipop for his healthy breakfast.

Every Valentine's Day, our family has a special breakfast. We have crepes and yummy toppings. This year, Ryan and Jonathan decided the candy that was by their plates looked better than the crepes, so they had that. I guess that is my fault for putting it by them. We have a lot of fun reading our fun "I love you" cards from each other and looking at our little gifts. It is a nice sit down breakfast that we all enjoy. The one breakfast a year, that I set the table instead of throwing out bowls or plates for people to catch their food on.

SLEDDING TIME!!

With all of this snow we have been getting, I finally took the boys out to go sledding, last friday afternoon. We had so much fun. The boys loved it and we lasted longer than I thought we would. We finally had to go because silly Jonathan would not keep his gloves on. Miles used his "snowboard" the whole time and the rest of us used sleds. It was a good time and hopefully we can all go as a family soon.

Almost TWO!!!!

Daddy and Jonathan in the famous box fort, Dad built for the bday party.

Well Jonathan turns two on Monday and I can't believe how fast the time goes. He is definately a big boy now. His personality is starting to really shine. He loves to sing, and do anything the older boys are doing and he is DEFINATELY a train guy. Good thing we have a million left over from Miles. So we are adding to the train collection for his birthday. He talks up a storm and is quick to give hugs and say sorry. What a fun kid!

I have to figure out how to turn pictures
Jonathan's first time sledding, he loved it.
Posing in his bath robe... Such a cutie!
Happy 1st birthday! February 18th 2007

Here or There??

I am wondering right about now how nice Hawaii would be to go and visit again. But I think I am the only one in the family with that wonder. Don't get me wrong, I love the snow and all, but it just keeps coming. Miles and Ryan absolutely love the snow. If we could get Jonathan to wear gloves, then he might stay out longer than 5 minutes. We are really enjoying the season changes and I am ready for another change. I want to see some green. Oh well, this will be a lot of moisture in the spring. Happy Day!
